DESCRIPTION:Dear Occoquan Forest Residents: \nLet’s get ready for trick or treating! \nCostumes\, decorations\, community\, fresh air – there are lots of reasons to love\nHalloween trick-or-treating. So join your neighbors for an afternoon/evening\ncelebration of spookiness that includes strutting in your Halloween costume and\ngawking at the best tricked out driveways/houses. Last year families placed tables\nat the top of their driveways with goodie bags. This placement of treats shortened\nwalking distance for tricksters as they didn’t have to stroll down driveways to knock\non doors and then walk back to the street. Trick or treating at 4:30 p.m. allowed\nenough daylight hours for participants to appreciate driveway/house decorations\nand the amazing costumes they were bound to see. \nSunday\, October 30\, 4:30 p.m. \nCANDY/GOODIE DISTRIBUTION\nInstead of having kids reach into a communal candy bowl\, we’re asking that\nindividual goodie bags be lined up on a table for kids to grab and go. Place the\ntable at the beginning of your driveway or edge of your yard. \nCANDY/GOODIE COLLECTION\nWe’re asking that candy receivers sign up at the link below just so we have a\nballpark estimate on participation. \nVIRTUAL DECORATION/COSTUME CONTEST\nEveryone likes a prize. So take your driveway/house Halloween decorations to the\nnext level and win that prize! (If you want to give out candy\, but not decorate\,\nthat’s great too!)\nThen\, put on that fantastical outfit/ensemble and enter the costume contest.\nCategories follow: \n Pets\n Preschool (age 4 and under)\n Elementary/middle school (ages 5-12)\n Teens (ages 13+)\n Driveway/house \nSIGN-UP LINK\nPlease use the following link to sign up if you plan to give candy\, receive candy\, or\nenter the house/driveway decoration contest.
